“Let’s Change the Pace” series 3: “health care in supporting developments of trans* children and youth” is coming soon.
Day 21st and 22nd of June at 18.00 CET. The project is organized by ENP and co-funded by the Erasmus+ project of the European Union and the webinar is organised by the parents’ organisations AMPGYL (Spain) and Grupa IZADJI (Serbia).
LET’S STAND FOR TRANS*’ RIGHTS
Trans* persons have long been fighting for their rights, in Europe and around the world.
They are often not accepted by their families, friends, or communities. As a result, they can feel isolated and alone. Because of all that, they may also suffer from mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. There is a need for more legal recognition of Trans* relationships and families, with the goal to create a society where Trans* persons can fully participate and be treated with respect and dignity.
There is hope, in recent years, significant advances have been made in Trans* rights, particularly in Europe. Trans* persons are now legally recognised in several European countries, and NGOs have been working to raise awareness of trans* issues and promote Trans* rights. However, there is still much work to be done to ensure that Trans* persons have full equality under the law. In particular, Trans* persons often face discrimination in employment, housing, and education.
Trans* youth need our support. They need to know that they are not alone. They need to know that we see, hear, and value them.
The European Network of Parents of LGBTI+ (ENP) was created to gather the voices of parents of LGBTI+ persons; the network advocates for the rights of trans* persons with focus and determination. The ENP is a powerful force and has been influential in the dialogue with institutions on a European scale, it works with other NGOs, government officials, experts, parents, volunteers, and trans* persons who work for a change, to ensure that trans* rights are respected.
It is thanks to the work of NGOs, the effort of more enlightened lawmakers and experts, and thanks to the will of European citizens who are willing to listen and act for change, that trans* persons can enjoy greater rights and protection than ever before. We won’t stop until dignity, respect, and equal opportunities are missing for our children.
You can show your support! On days 21 and 22 June ENP, with the co-funding of the Erasmus+ project of the European Union and the extraordinary support of our partners A.Ge.D.O, Amplos, Ampgyl, Grupa IZADJI, Drachma, is organising a webinar to discuss trans* youth rights, to write a manifesto: an essential tool to advocate for the rights of our children.
